Mia Hazard
LCSW
Mia Hazard is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. With a Master of Social Work from Boston University, Mia brings experience from both crisis-based and therapeutic settings at Bradley Hospital, where she has supported adolescents experiencing acute behavioral health concerns and families trying to determine what support is needed next. Her background includes individual and family therapy, therapeutic groups, clinical assessment, safety and risk evaluation, crisis intervention, and treatment planning. This experience has given Mia a strong understanding of not only the needs of adolescents, but also the stress, uncertainty, and difficult decisions that parents and caregivers can experience when their child is struggling.
Mia approaches therapy from a trauma-informed and family-centered perspective to help clients better understand and manage intense emotions, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and navigate challenging behaviors and relationships. As a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking clinician with nearly a decade of professional Spanish-language interpretation experience in a hospital setting, Mia brings a particularly strong understanding of how language, culture, family values, and access to resources can shape a person’s experience with mental health care. She particularly enjoys helping individuals move beyond simply reacting to crises by identifying patterns, building practical skills, and creating greater sense of stability in everyday life. Mia strives to create a space where individuals can speak openly, feel genuinely understood, and work together toward changes that are realistic and meaningful for their lives.
